The Yale Project on Climate Change and the George Mason University Center for Climate Change Communication just released a new study focusing on six groups of Americans with distinct views on global warming. Tony Leiserowitz, one of C3’s Co-PIs, is an author of the study.
Global warming is a complex issue, and as the report notes, “successfully addressing this challenge will require a diversity of messages, messengers, and methods, each tailored to meet the needs of different target audiences.”

The report (available for download here) provides an extensive profile of each of these audiences that you might find useful when thinking about how to talk about climate change at your science center.
