About IPF
IPF has a long tradition of promoting the importance of polar research and creating communication tools for the public. The most spectacular new task of the Foundation, besides creating specialized museums on polar science, is the creation of the new Belgian Polar Research station that should open in 2008.
IPF will contribute to IGLO by providing innovative research results edited for the public. IPF has a large database of specialized science journalists (over 2000 world wide) and will disseminate IGLO information to the press through this network. Finally IPF will contribute to the creation of educational products based on their own expertise in the field.
The IPF’s mission is to communicate and educate on the reality of climate change through the findings of Polar sciences and thereby convince society to act responsibly now to ensure a sustainable world for future generations.
