Learn How to Get Involved

There are many ways for science centers as well as individuals to participate in the IGLO initiative:

For science centers:

Register to receive the IGLO newsletter.
Link to the IGLO website to highlight your climate change exhibitions and programs. We’ll add a link to you on the IGLO site.
Label your own IPY, climate and environmental programs and events with the IGLO logo. Click here for our branding policy and instructions on how to obtain and use the logo.
Participate in the development of the DECIDE global warming game.
Use the IGLO toolkit and contribute your own resources to expand it.
Attend IGLO sessions and workshops at the ASTC conference.
Contribute stories about your activities to the newsletter and the web site.
Take an active part in these IGLO events:

  - The Global Warming Challenge for Schools
  - The Teacher’s Day toolkit event

April 2007: International Test of DECIDE Game (through the summer in various sites)
June 8 2007: World Ocean Day - new tools about oceans and climate for the IGLO toolkit.
July 7 2007: Live Earth concerts in eight cities around the world. IGLO activities, demonstrations, and films will be hosted by science centers.
October 2007: The Global Warming Challenge for Schools (through June)
October 4 2007: International Climate Change Conversation
October 2007: ASTC Annual Conference. IGLO activities will include a pre-conference workshop, track sessions, film festival, and a presentation by POLAR-PALOOZA.
October 2007: Teacher’s Day of web-based activities to promote use of the toolkit in schools.
March 13, 2008: IPY/IGLO worldwide interactive videoconference, themed Our Changing Planet: Past and Present
May 2008: Albedo Experiment involving 20 sites around the world. Youngsters will be invited by science centers to demonstrate the albedo effect and the importance of the poles in maintaining the Earth’s temperature.
June 2008: 5th Science Centre World Congress. Among other activities will be the presentation of the IGLO Photo Project art installation and a related media event.
Spring 2009: Closing conference in Monaco.
Spring 2009: Dissemination of results.
