Planning for access

After conducting access surveys, groups practiced writing transition/implementation plans, focusing on areas identified as needing improvement.

Renee Wells' group consulted ADA guidelines regarding entrances and recommended placing a permanent sign at the main door directing visitors to the nearest accessible entrance. Michael Muehe's group addressed the problems of protruding objects in the route of travel from the parking garage and noncompliant features in an accessible restroom.

Betty Davidson sits with a glass of Zing and her pencil poised. At left, Betty Davidson guides her group in prioritizing the changes that need to be made in Investigate! based on their measurements and feedback from group members with disabilities.

At the end of the day, MOS staff collected the plans to use in their ongoing review of facilities and visitor services.
