We are excited to be bringing the ASTC 2024 Annual Conference to Chicago, Illinois, for the first time since 1983.
Our Host City – Chicago
Chicago, the United States’ third largest city, has a metropolitan area population of almost 10 million people. The city is renowned for its museums, including several ASTC members, and other world-class institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago. Located on the western shore of Lake Michigan, Chicago is famed for its bold architecture and has a skyline punctuated by skyscrapers such as the iconic John Hancock Center, 1,451-ft. Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower.
The main conference activities, including registration, plenary and concurrent sessions, and the Exhibit Hall, will be held at McCormick Place, Chicago’s state-of-the-art convention center.
Hotels
ASTC is pleased to offer access to discounted hotel accommodations for the ASTC 2024 Annual Conferenced.
We strongly encourage you to book as part of the conference room block. Not only will you be close to conference activities and other participants, you will help ensure that ASTC meets its contracted commitments, which help hold down the overall conference costs.
Chicago is centrally located within driving distance of much of the United States and Canada and has two major international airports:

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) offers more than 230 daily flights on seven airlines, providing nonstop service to 74 U.S. cities and 11 international destinations. MDW is a major base for Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
Amtrak serves Chicago’s Union Station with 11 train routes serving cities such as Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Omaha, New York, and St. Louis.
Things to Do
Chicago is one of the most vibrant cities in North America, and we’ll hope you’ll have the chance to explore at least some of what the city has to offer.
In addition to two parties—at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry and the Field Museum—the conference schedule includes a free evening to explore the city. Check out a number of suggestions from our hosts in Chicago.
